I know I wrestle with this for sure. My thoughts seem to change though more and more over the years as I see a God radically committed to every detail of my life. I see Him enter into things I would have never thought in a million years He would have been interested in. It's almost like He is saying right back at me, "You know the reason I care is because you care." He loves what we love, and cares about what we care about. It's like my love for Meehan. Now that we are married, I am interested in what she is interested in because I love her and I want to know her more.
Meehan and I got a little taste of God's detailed love and presence the other day when we were with our good friend Dan Bauman. Although to some it might seem small, to us it was one of many "I love yous" the Lord has made clear to us while being out here in Europe. The other day we were in Zurich spending the day with Dan and we both needed to leave on separate trains to different places. We wanted to get as much time in with Dan but knew our train times could hinder this. Well it just so happened that out of tons and tons of trains that day, our two trains going to completely different places were two of the only ones leaving at the exact same time from the exact same platform...the chances of this happening were crazy with the amount of trains, people, platforms, and times. As I looked up to see the departure times of all the tons and tons of trains, there our two stood out as two of the only right next to each other right at the same time. This enabled us to spend the whole day together and not worry at all. O how he loves us!
beautiful... a great reminder of HIS love for us in the seemingly small things, all this from a GOD who has placed the stars in the heavens and set the waves a limit they cannot pass (job).. there is no detail left un-noticed, the ultimate party planner if you will :)) rejoicing that you got to spend time with Dan as a result!

OK Dan, so I love your blog, I mean Meehan is really good at making that happen, and making you look good. But I am concerned by some of the photos, she looks, well, like going down hill. Maybe a make up artist, some new clothes? The promise keeper guys say that if a wife glows, the husband is doing a good job. So Dan, what do those photos say about you? I mean, use photoshop, or something. On the about us section.

Enjoy hobnobing with the rich and famous, drinking heavenly coffee, eating heavenly chocolate, but know this, there is a time to abound and to be abased. And when Judy and I get to Europa, we are gonna fill our blog with photos that will make you eat your heart out.
