We just had an awesome time back home while teaching at YWAM Denver. When we bought a used truck a couple months ago in Denver we didn't know how we were going to go get it. It was a huge blessing when the Denver base had a sudden teaching opening shortly after and just 'happen' to think of us. They ended up paying for one of our tickets out and the trip ended up having greater purpose! God's so cool. He really does take care of us. I taught a week on inductive Bible study to a leadership school of about 30 college students from about 7 nations.
An inductive approach teaches an individual to be able to interpret scripture on their own through the study of the historical context of each book. In contrast, a deductive approach, is when a teacher tells you what scripture means from their own conclusions. This method is so key for every believer so they can come directly to God's word on their own to gain revelation, not just through a 2nd party source. This particular group in Denver was so cool and really dove in. They were so stirred when they came to see how the Bible comes to life when we know the background of each book...the gospels each become so different, Leviticus becomes one of the most gripping books, and the prophets become so much easier to understand. It was a fun time Meehan and I were so grateful for! Thank you YWAM Denver!
