We will be celebrating with those in the townships who we have been doing Bible studies and simple church with. It hit me this week the lack of reverence I so often hold for these days when they really do encompass everything we live for. One thing Meehan and I are doing this year is reading Luke and what happened each day this week 2000 years ago. One morning in my quiet time I felt the Lord remind me that although Jesus was fully man, he was also fully God. Jesus himself said in Luke 19:44 when entering Jerusalem to walk out his passion, “You did not recognize the time of God’s coming to you.” This is something I so often am numb to. I felt in my quiet time the Lords leading to change Jesus name to God as Meehan and I read through the account of his passion this week. Wow, it really impacted us as we read things like Luke 22:63 when it says, “The men who were guarding ‘God’ began mocking and beating him.” Or when reading verses such as Luke 23:11 when it says, “Then Herod and his soldiers mocked ‘God’. Dressing him in an elegant robe.” How crazy is it that Jesus was the god-man. When the disciples sat with him they were looking at the one who actually designed them in his mind. They were face to face with the one who literally created the universe, the moon, and the stars. How fascinating would that have been? Can you imagine the day when we get to do the same! O I long for it! Happy Easter.
