Basking In God's Faithfulness

Greetings from South Africa! After over 30 hours of travel (24 in planes) we made it safe and sound, and actually with a lot of grace...we didn't even feel much jet lag. That seems to be the story of our time here though. We have experienced the nonstop grace and faithfulness of God since being here. We really came knowing little other than the assurance that God wanted us here. With that said, we were trying to be prepared for anything. Little did we know that the Lord would be so kind as to give the same conviction to 5 other newly weds! They are from India, Great Britain, Germany, and the US and all of us have the desire to learn and be mentored in church planting as a tool for missions. It's so fun to be with people who are not only in the same time of life as us, but have the same desire too. Also, we were given a room with our own bathroom and is much nicer than we expected! It's nothing crazy, but it makes things so much nicer for us. Our class is super multicultural with 12 nations represented with a huge group from Africa. Worship is incredible (pictured above) and full of life. Unique questions are brought out in lecture times with so many perspectives. We have also already been brought into two townships here where we will be practicing what we are taught. They are unbelievable in and of themselves. They are primarily shanty towns made out of tin with some cement homes here and there, but the people are wonderful. I had the opportunity to go with our leader, Floyd Mclung, to one of the small home churches he is helping start in one of these towns. It was about 8 people from Malawi and it was so cool to watch them worship, learn, and pray together. All in all we are doing REALLY good. It is so clear to both of us that we are right where we need to be. We can't thank you enough for your all of your prayers and would ask that you keep them coming!
