TIA--THIS IS AFRICA!!!

It’s fun to see the ‘subtle’ differences of living in Africa compared to the States. Take for instance the signs posted on the side of the road that say, “Baboon Matters-Please Call This Number”. How about the way everyone, including the blacks, use the term colored people, to describe those that are a particular shade of black here. Maybe it was the four foot poisonous ‘Cape Cobra’ they found in our kitchen Saturday. It was successfully caught and killed after someone left a door open in the house we are staying at. Or my favorite…the other day when we went to one of the more popular beaches here in town in which we met the “Shark Spotter” on our way home. She was positioned on the hillside with polarized glasses and some binoculars to keep an eye out for any great white sharks that might come too close. She assured us though that she hadn’t seen one for nearly five days! HaHa.

  1. UNBELIEVABLE! COBRA!!! I would have died at just the sight of that...make sure to not leave the door open to your room or patio. That is just crazy!

Can't wait to hear all about the other SUBTLE differences.

    love you guys!
